I know this plant's been mentioned on the forums before but I can't remember the name. At Bobbejaankrans and it stinks to high heaven!

From your photo (and taking the comment of odour in account) I am pretty sure that it is the "Lowveld Cluster Leaf" - Terminalia prunioides. They flower from +/- Sept. to Feb. (Not sure when your photo was taken; assuming it was on your recent tipe to SA.) an yes the flowers, rich in nectar, do have a revoltingly sweet smell. |
