I wich to thank Johan (camp manager, Pund Maria) and his wife for going out of their way to help my sister and her her husband (who is in wheelchair) on Friday 11 May 2012. Johan's wife kept telefhonically in contact with Teresa from the gate to the camp.
She asked me to thank both of you and added that you are super people and excellent ambassadors for the Park. ![]() |

Yes, we experienced their kindness last November.
We had booked an ordinary unit, which was quite a distance from the communal braai area. As many of you know I can only walk short distances and when Dungie went to see whether we could move to another unit nearer the braai, the manager (who I presume is Johan) upgraded us to a tented unit for the disabled, so we had our own braai area on the deck, and a wonderful bird viewing opportunity!! The camp is always clean and we love it there!! |

We have a tent booked in August; can't wait to see this different area of the park and to experience Punda Maria Camp.

3D......you will love it.
Very different terrain to other parts. Baobabs, Fever Trees........... Probably less cats if I'm honest, but amazing birds not seen in the south, and the rarer antelope like Eland and Roan. You must take a trip up to Pafuri picnic site to meet Frank, who if he's not busy will take you on a tour of the site and show you "his" birds........also then carry on to "Crook Corner"..........very interesting history!!!! The area is much quieter than the centre or south...........less cars and just a slower pace. Punda is a camp that has stayed relatively unchanged over the years. The tents are wonderful.........beautiful deck with own braai and a view into the woods, where all sorts of amazing birds will come to visit you!!! Hope you have a really amazing time. |
