Hi all.
Apologies for what could be a silly question, but I couldn’t get it answered at the SANPARKS call centre, or find an answer on the net. One of my travelling companions on my trip the Kgalagadi is a German national, who is married to a SA citizen, living in SA, has currently a temporary resident permit and is in process and has been in process of getting a permanent residence for a number of months (Dept of home affairs - sheesh! I am trying to work out her conservation fees are going to be. Will she be charged foreign national (R196.00 pd) fees or SA resident fees (R48.00 pd), even though she currently only has a temp. residence permit? Any guidance will be appreciated Paul. |

We had the same situation and the temporary residence permit was enough!

So just to confirm (I may be blind but I couldn't find the answer to this!), the fee is R160 per day for none South Africans? I assume that's in addition to the fee for the accomodation if we stay in the park?

Take a look here:- http://www.sanparks.org/parks/kgalagadi ... ariffs.php It lists the conservation fee at R192 per adult per day. This is aside from accom. costs. @ Dotty and Pam. Thanks for heads up about the wild cards. I hadn't given it any thought. |

Paul -- just do some sums -- I think your break even point is about 4 days ? Anything after that is free
We always get an all clusters couples Wild card -- free entry into any park for the year Not easy for overseas folk though, unless you intend to visit more tha one park. htid -- You will pay the conservation fee whether or not you stay in the park. If you want to spend 5 days there, I think a wild card will be cheaper ... |

Hi everybody,
When we last visited KTP (in 2007) we bought the Wild Card at Twee Rivieren. Is that still an option or should I apply for a card via the SANParks website? Thanks! Martin. |

Please note if you buy a card at any park you do not get a plastic card, you only get a confirmation slip. Keep this safe as it is your Wild Card. To get your card you then need to go onto the website and update your details.
If you buy online you will get a confirmation email. Print this out. Wild Card are advising that the card's are taking 4-6 weeks to arrive if all the information supplied is correct. If your card does not arrive before you leave then the confirmation email will be accepted at all the parks that your Wild Card is valid for. |

Saraf,
Thanks for the extra info. I read on the Wild Card website that the card is valid for 365 days. Since we will start our trip at KTP in August, I think it's far better to apply for the card then, at the Twee Rivieren office. This way, the card will be valid until August 2013, instead of, let's say, April 2013. |

Just don't forget to add your details online when you get home. |
