    Ag shame - Aww, as in cute or sad. For example, when looking at a picture of a fluffy kitten: "Ag shame!" Or if someone tells you a sad story: "Eish... ag shame!"
    Amarula - Amarula is a South African cream liqueur made with the fruit of the African Marula tree (Sclerocarrya birrea)
    Angel - Female forumite
    Artists - The forum has a couple of great artists as members
    Avatar - A forumite's alter-ego, an avatar is a user's own graphical representation
    AWC - African Wild Cat
    AWD - African Wild Dog

    Biltong - Spicy dried meat

    Cardboard cutouts - According to Wildtuinman, all animals on the S100, are cardboard cutouts
    Castle - A magical elixer, that on consumption, turns a previously incapable of cooking anything male, into a gourmet outdoor chef
    Cat - Just about any member of the Felidae family i.e. Lion, Leopard and Cheetah but not Wild Cat. These are referred to as African Wild Cat or simply AWC.
    CC - Caption Competition (a type of quiz)
    CFN – Ciao for now
    CGF - Crested Guinea Fowl
    Crib: Also referred to as waterhole
    The Cricket Weekend at Skukuza - The cricket weekend at Skukuza was held to raise funds for the Nossob WebCam. The weekend was a huge succes, the angels came...they saw ... they conquered

    Dappled One - Aka the Prince of Stealth, a leopard

    Do a Jazil - to do a Jazil means you got foncused and posted in the wrong thread
    Dof - Stupid (Afrikaans) Someone who is dof, is not necessarily that way all the time. It is often used to describe a temporary loss of brain cells.
    Dop - Booze, drink (Afrikaans)
    DYR - Drop Your Rock, a survival tactic. Particularly useful on a morning walk with your hungover buddies. Pick up a decent sized rock. If chased by something run! If you are up to full speed, "drop your rock"(DYR). This will enable you to run even faster, allowing you to pull out from under your budds, indirectly putting them as a buffer between u and danger.

    Renosterbos = literally rhino forest, Elytropappus rhinocerotis
    Renosterveld = literally rhino bush. The Mediterranean vegetation type of SA (Mediterranean = wet winters, dry summers). Occurs on richer soils than fynbos in the Western Cape, characterized by rhenosterbos. Sadly, less than 3% of renosterveld remains, as the rest is now farmland. Occurs in TMNP.

    Stoep - Veranda (Afrikaans)
    Stop! – (or or Stop the car!) codewords that trigger the Loggapotamus/rockasaurus metamorphosis.
    Strandveld = literally "beach bush." Occurs on calcium-rich sand in WCNP, TMNP, Agulhas NP
    Sweep - Sweeping means moving a topic or post out of a topic to the relevant area .. i.e. A Spin-off can be removed from a topic to Chit-Chat for example.

    Vetkoek - Traditional Afrikaner pastry (pronounced fet-kook). It is dough deep-fried in cooking oil and either filled with cooked mince or spread with syrup or honey. It is thought to have its origins in Oliebollen (a Dutch pastry), which goes back to the time of the migration period. It is similar in taste to Mexican Sopapillas.
