Well the day started with me being dropped off just after 8am for a bit of lovely birding on the Stiffnecks B-Day. It was quite overcast and the wind was howling. I really started to worry that we might have to cancel as thick clouds started building up!

I quickly made my way down to the bird hide just to escape the cold but this did not help much especially not being so close to the water! There wasn't to many birds around except for some Swifts and Swallows. At last I decided to take on the hills to try and warm up a bit and it made a huge difference not only was the blood pumping a bit but it was also in the wind shadow! The first hill I climbed is the one right next to the dam and the trail that runs up and on it is know as the garden viewing trail! (Sorry the photo's aren't that good due to bad light)

I continued along the the pathway meandering up and on the the hill and could hear the lovely sounds of the White-bellied Sunbirds calling from all over! The Nedicky's melodies intertwined with the Sunbirds' as I rounded the hill!

M.. they have a little shop a nursery and are busy with a restaurant there at the moment,
that is the green roof you see there.

White throated swallow fledgelings in their nest under the thatch in the corner of the hide.
