A handy tip if rain is threatening to douse your fire. Put a whole newspaper(not just one page) on the grid directly above your fire. The newspaper will get get wet but the water will not seep through. The newspaper will also not burn because it stays wet.

Interesting. And if you already have meat on the fire? Or do you mean while the fire is still catching?

I have used it while the fire was still going and during the braai. In the old days the newspapers used to give off ink but nowadays they don't

Handy tip will try it next time the rain is trying to spoil my braai, if it does'n work will use my old umbrella again.

Ja ja ja Louis. If you go to Kruger, an umbrella will not be on your packing list because a hundred umbrellas in any camp will resemble Margate during Christmas season. :whistle: I am talking about braaing in a Park :thumbs_up:

AWB you don't know my wife. She will pack in the mirowave if i don't stop her. Ag wat n little rain has never been able to stop from having a braai. there is always some sort of meens to bybass any problem.

Our neighbours in LS recently brought a microwave and a coffee machine with them.
