Hi
Cant remember any comments on the S82.
The gravel near Sunset.
Stond in front of it a few times and never took it.
Anyone done this road and what were their findings

Drove up it in April Bert - saw nothing, but it was one of those days

Are you maybe not referring to the S28 bert?

Nope it is the S82 - Mativuhlungu road!

We drove it in August saw general game, rhino... and best of all thats were we saw our wilddogs!

Ok .. I can't find it on my Map ...

Where is that road?

If you look on this map of yours follow the H4-2 (tar road from Croc brigde to Lower Sabie... look just under where Lower Sabie is written there is a 10km gravel road (left side of the tar road) and it enters the H4-2 almost at Lower Sabie camp and sunset dam

I rate it as a very good road - always has general game and often predators .

It is often taken on the night drives and they know from experience .

i have seen lion prides often especial close to lower-sabie , and January 2002 a buffalo kill on the side of road .

you also cross 2 streams with low level bridges (and water pools ) which are always worth stopping at , switching the engine off and looking at the birds and enjoying the sounds etc . they are probably very dry now but still worth a stop .

Thats were they are being hidden

We have used that road a couple of times, but usually its when we are a little pushed for time to get to Croc. Bridge so unfortunately haven't been able to take our time over it.

We were once told that a pride of Lions with a kill was just in from L.S. but try as we might could not find anything.
Other than that all the usual animals, always something.

But we will use it again as I have a "good feeling" about the S82

I did that one and off the top of my head saw ellies, 'rafs, and plenty birds, but nothing spectacular... Nice route though to drive and back up the H4-2 if you are at Sunset too early.

S82, I drove it twice and didn,t saw nothing. I think its close family of the S100.

Also done it a few times and seen zip. So now I just don't drive it anymore and stick to the H4-2 which is much more productive as far as I am concerned.

Then I better get on it sometime!!!

In years gone by we have seen wild dog, lion and cheetah on this road - this year we saw rhino and elephant and a puff adder.
