OK. All confirmed, booked and paid for.

I'll PM the participants with my contact details to save the spammers from doing even more work and I'll put the timings up later as I'm at work and haven't got access to the documents with them in, but they aren't any different to the ones already posted yonks back.

See everyone in 10 days

Royal Naval Museum Untimed
HMS Warrior 1860 Untimed
HMS Victory 10:25
Mary Rose Ship Hall 11:15
Harbour Tour 12:00
Mary Rose Museum 13:15
Action Stations 14:30
Spinnaker Tower 16:00

I'll be collecting the tickets from the Group ticket office just after 9:30 and I'll hang around there until just after 10. If you arrive after then give me a ring (details will be PM'd later) and I'll come back to the gate (unless it's after 12:00 when I'll be on a boat around the harbour).

The Historic Dockyard has a cafe/restaurant that we can retire to at any point. There are also bars nearby in Gunwharf Quays (but if we go out I don't think we can get back in again).

After the trip up the Spinnaker Tower we shall be retiring to the The Old Customs House for an informal* gathering to eat, drink and be merry.

The Dockyard is part of the Naval Base and so some restrictions are in place, searches, leaving bags unattended etc but nothing too onerous.

If anyone needs any directions or information at all about Portsmouth then let me know and I'll try to help.

PMs coming soon.

*As in I've not made a booking so it will be a free for all, order your own meals when you are ready to eat.

PMs have been sent. Please let me know if you haven't received one or if you have any queries.

Some good news - HMS Ark Royal came "home" on Friday so there'll be at least one aircraft carrier in to view on the Harbour Tour. The bad news is we missed the Red Arrows fly past. That would have beaten Kamprunner's fireworks. Well you all missed it, I didn't.

See you all on Saturday. I'm really looking forward to it.

Well we've had some fun and games here today - a trawler dredged up an unexploded bomb last night out in the Solent and an exclusion zone has been set up around it.

We had the most gorgeous sunset tonight, so red sky at night signals a fine day tomorrow (or so say the shepherds).

See you all there.

I think everyone had a good day, the weather certainly helped.

Thank you to everyone for making the journey to the South Coast, I know it was a big trek for most of you. It was great meeting you all.

There were lots of cameras around and I think it may take some time to sort through all the photos that were taken. I'll try to post something tonight.

Morning All
Had a wonderful Meet in Portsmouth...BIG THANK YOU to our SARA for hosting the Meet.
The day was sunny and we thoroughly enjoyed clambering up and down HMS Victory. The hull of the Mary Rose was fascinating to see and learn about the long term restoration process. The Harbour tour was done by some whilst a certain purple footed forumite chose to bask in the sun till lunch was called  Lunch was a festive affair most people holding something in reserve for the evening meal. After that it was the Spinnaker Tower ...most impressive. We were lucky to see a Tall Ship entering the harbour before we made our way to the cold beers and food. By this time a certain Peregrine Falcon was in desperate need of revival.
What a wonderful bunch of Forumites....it was a pleasure meeting the newbies and touch base with the 'oldies' from previous meets.
Some of the guys are still making their way home so pics will take a while yet....as we need permission to post.
Hang in there
I dreamt of the red dunes again last night.....

Hi everyone,
Just to say we had a splendid day. A very interesting venue and glorious weather. HMS Victory stunning, very atmospheric, glad we weren't there in 1805 but glad we beat the French! Harbour cruise was excellent and views from the Spinnaker Tower were amazing too.
We so enjoyed meeting such lovely, like-minded people and it all felt so natural to be together. Putting faces to names will make reading the forum much more interesting in future.
Thanks again Sara for organizing it all, you're a star!
We hope to have a repeat performance in the not too distant future.

Take care wherever you are,
PF and SO.

PS. Kamprunner was correct I did need those beers!
A poor life this, if full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
