Hi to all.

Last night when I planned our routes for Our weekend in July I started thinking.
How many of you guys do things you never thought you would do in your live?

My friend and I that always go to Kruger together have done this a few times.
We set our alarms for 30 min before the gate open.
We wake up and make us coffee in the flasks, take some snacks, get in the car and wait for the gate to open. We never take off our pajamas.
We do our morning drive in pajamas, slippers and only put on a jacket.

We thought many times before what will people think if they see us driving in our nighties.

So come on guys tell us your stories.

I quite like the idea of a pyjama party in KNP!

It would surely shock the overseas tourists who feel they have to arrive in a bush green safari suit with matching hat and socks to look the part.

or pith helmet and leopard print tights.

Perhaps OBIE can test drive that outfit on her next outing in KNP BB and let us know if any of the rangers she passed noticed.

Me and my sister do too Obie.
Hahaha, always in winter so at least we’re respectably covered up  .
When we want to see lions or a leopard or something spectacular we do a pajaam drive. Works every time!
it also happens that whenever we look like accidents, people want to stop, roll down windows and chat away about the sights, even the weather.
A beanie and shades help to not scare the poor souls. Oh and a beechie for da breath

@ TH....Man, that's Humor. Diving knife & can of pepperspray   Sure you don't have 'bloubul mis' aswell

But to add some value:

Sometimes I wake up, dress and go. No tooth paste, shaving, gel etc.

Now this one day at Satara, we drove the s100, turning right on the s41 towards the H6. This one guys stops me. I'm im Kruger, happy chappy and all that: he asks me if we saw anything. I tell him about some distant lions on the s100, as well as BAFFELS (thats how I pronounced it)

I just saw this bloke shaking his head, and continued. Afterwards, I realised; I answered him with a big smile, my teeth still yelllow from last nights' braai. My hairstyle would scare a bunch of hungry hyena's, and my beard was close to that of a Khalahari lion    Then, I answered this very neat and tidy 'pommy' (no offence intended) about some BAFFELS (Combination of buffalo and buffels) :rtm:

Poor guy, or was it poor me  :hmz:

I always leave in my pj's, if I want to go early.

I have my first cup of coffee, brush teeth, put my toothbrush in my pocket as not to waste time...
then I stop at my first waterhole for my second cup of coffee.

I get dressed when I reach the next camp.. Sometimes I get strange looks

Alarm goes off, get up, put the kettle on, bathroom (loo, face wash, teeth), get dressed, fill flask, grab rusks, bins and books and we are in the car 15 minutes after the alarm goes off, ready to face the world. Careful placement of bins, books, rusks and clothes the night before and we can have a few more minutes in bed.

You guys just made my day!!!! Tears are running down my cheeks.

Bush BAptistNever any curlers. In Kruger we become one of nature.

Snow ZeeIT must have been us but on that day. Always dress to kill. I strongly suggest a pajama drive for you.

Would love to test drive the pith helmet and leopard print tights. Any uther suggestions welcome.

Girafee: We also do it in the winter as we like our winter pajamas and we always wear the same. We have 3 sets of winter pajamas that are the same. Some people think we are twins and some think we are crazy in the evening when we leave the showers. The reason we do it if any animal spots us he will think he had to much to drink or going bananas or has double vision.
I also but on a beany or hat. No shades as we both weaR SPECS.
We don't mind chatting.

Fanta: Also do night patrols in pajamas and armed with a spotlight.

Gamespotter: will be looking out next time for the kalahari lion with the yellow teeth stalking BAFFELS. In KRuger.

Advice to you all. Just try it ones. The animals don't mind. Wear youre jammies.

If people do it when taking the kids to school why not for your early morning drive in KNP. I did it before but put a tracksuite over my pj's - what if a traffic officer stops me and I need to get out of the car, the poor animals will run all the way to Maputo.

Hi Elzet
Enjoy your trip to the park. Best packing list I have seen.
I mthink the frilly pajamas will do the thing. Cats love them.
Enjoy at least one pajama morning drive.
Don;t forget the beanie and sunglasses.
