Hi to all.

Last night when I planned our routes for Our weekend in July I started thinking.
How many of you guys do things you never thought you would do in your live?

My friend and I that always go to Kruger together have done this a few times.
We set our alarms for 30 min before the gate open.
We wake up and make us coffee in the flasks, take some snacks, get in the car and wait for the gate to open. We never take off our pajamas.
We do our morning drive in pajamas, slippers and only put on a jacket.

We thought many times before what will people think if they see us driving in our nighties.

So come on guys tell us your stories.

If I did a pajama drive I would get arrested

Nighties ok, but please not curlers & an orange pocket. You will scare off the animals

Are you the folk we saw near Satara coming out of the cave in your Batman Pyjama's?

I quite like the idea of a pyjama party in KNP!

It would surely shock the overseas tourists who feel they have to arrive in a bush green safari suit with matching hat and socks to look the part.

Perhaps OBIE can test drive that outfit on her next outing in KNP BB and let us know if any of the rangers she passed noticed.

Me and my sister do too Obie.
Hahaha, always in winter so at least we’re respectably covered up  .
When we want to see lions or a leopard or something spectacular we do a pajaam drive. Works every time!
it also happens that whenever we look like accidents, people want to stop, roll down windows and chat away about the sights, even the weather.
A beanie and shades help to not scare the poor souls. Oh and a beechie for da breath

When going to the harsh African Bush, you have to be prepared and operational in case of an unforeseen incident!!

You have to be dressed accordingly.... khaki's, pith helmut (thanks BB), boots, etc, etc. What will you do if you have an emergency like a flat tyre or a mechanical breakdown and you have to walk miles through the African bush while dressed in pajamas and slippers?

After a lioness has opened our car door many moons ago, I'm prepared with a huge diving knife, tongs to open my gate-sealed revolver bag and a can of pepper spray...just in case!!

@ TH....Man, that's Humor. Diving knife & can of pepperspray   Sure you don't have 'bloubul mis' aswell

But to add some value:

Sometimes I wake up, dress and go. No tooth paste, shaving, gel etc.

Now this one day at Satara, we drove the s100, turning right on the s41 towards the H6. This one guys stops me. I'm im Kruger, happy chappy and all that: he asks me if we saw anything. I tell him about some distant lions on the s100, as well as BAFFELS (thats how I pronounced it)

I just saw this bloke shaking his head, and continued. Afterwards, I realised; I answered him with a big smile, my teeth still yelllow from last nights' braai. My hairstyle would scare a bunch of hungry hyena's, and my beard was close to that of a Khalahari lion    Then, I answered this very neat and tidy 'pommy' (no offence intended) about some BAFFELS (Combination of buffalo and buffels) :rtm:

Poor guy, or was it poor me  :hmz:

I always leave in my pj's, if I want to go early.

I have my first cup of coffee, brush teeth, put my toothbrush in my pocket as not to waste time...
then I stop at my first waterhole for my second cup of coffee.

I get dressed when I reach the next camp.. Sometimes I get strange looks

:hmz: And then hubby has the audacity to give me a look-with-that-tone-in-his-voice if I don't have any war paint on at 05:00 in the morn'?? (Ok, ok, I must admit, not such a pretty sight...) But at least I have had a shower, brushed my teeth, got dressed, combed my hair? So hubby, if you read here,   . See, I told you, other people drive around with plagued teeth, hyena breath, lion mane, rhino toes, yesterday's socks and jocks. Now do you believe me?
