I see large grey mongoose and large spotted genet are listed on Addo's mammal list. In waht part of Addo can they be found?

Also, Oribi is not listed. Did the reintroduction not happen or not work?

HI lam - I have seen the spotted Genet 4 times in the caravan park. Last time I caravaned on tent site 27,at the end of the road between the safari tents and caravan sites, the blighter stole my borewors off the table before I could braai the wors. it was only at 6:30 in the evening.

Large grey mongoose has been seen in the main game area but you can consider it a rare visitor as it has not been seen often. Large grey mongoose has been seen in the Kabouga area of the Park.

Oribi should be on the species list. Thanks for pointing out its absence - I'll rectify that. You can only see oribi in the Langvlakte contractual area in Woody Cape.

WarthogB, the genet you see in the caravan park is usually the small-spotted genet. This is the common species in the main game area.

Was the small spotted genet or large spotted genet?

maker and master chooser of boerewors of quality from his favourite butchery on the line),when he in the process of putting wors on the table.
This is serious stuff,for a dedicated boerewors braaier does not take kindley to being spoken of with disrespect by grandstanders ,those eaters who have no idea that a boerewors-man has a deep side to his smoke-and-liquid-cured persona.Vir seker!.And a man's pride is a delicate matter!

And a Large-spotted genet tramples all over his(our intrepid braaier's)soul by stealing the precious wors while our unfortunate brother has his attention distracted by whatever.The clink of Charles Glass announcing his arrival.Perhaps? For to lose one's wors is something that a self-respecting and dedicated wors-man has nightmares over.How to restore our braaier's confidence,not in his fellow-man,but in the ordinary folk found in nature,pa genet and oom mongoose,there lies the thing.

Help, please.Our forum needs your imput to help heal our friend's perception of ,not only that "blighter" which stole his wors,but also of all its brethren!!

A few questions to WB.

What were you doing instead of keeping an eye on your wors?
What did you eat in it's place?
Did you find the little blighter?
Is it now a Davy Crockett hat?

@Henk - yep Henk certainly looks like the wors stealer and see the electric cord in the background showing he is still around the camp sites?
Must get piggy onto him!
@ BB - peter , a man has to get some liquid intake else the braai dehydrates one and SO will not bring me one

just for interest - had made the fire and brought out wors and "other meat" to put on fire when dehydration started to set in so ducked into caravan to get some anti- dehydration and some mossie repelant then came out to braai.
Came back outside and sat down to take medicine and while waiting noticed an empty poystyrene tray on ground next to table. picked up empty tray and therw it in trash can wondering why SO had been careless not to throw tray into trash can(most unlike her). Sat down again as medicne had not quite taken effect yet and was still dehydrated.
Well time to braai - now where is wors ???? - SO SO have you taken the wors - are you nuts,why do I want the wors - well I cannot find it?
I will not repeat what was further said to me
Aah - that poystyrene tray (did medicine work too quickly ) and T threw wors and tray into trash can????? Open trash can and look - no nothing,scratch head and wait.
Few miutes later after sitting quietly and thinking there pops out Mr Genet from the hedge - well he got a piece of flying wood close behind his tail.
SO's comment - ???????? but it took some time for her to stop laughing at me.
Moral of Addo - dont braai too close to the hedge and ALWAYS protect your wors
