@ RJ: Tamboti with tubers?
This one is much more dangerous, it ia a violent emetic and if eaten by humans it results in death within 4 hours.
@ Imberbe: This tuberous climber has beautiful flowers and is often found in gardens.

Sound like one of the Adenia species.

:hmz:

Maybe Adenia digitata (Bobbejaangif)
or
Adenia glauca (Also called Bobbejaangif.)

Nope, we were looking for the National Flower of one of our neigbours but also indigenous to RSA. It does occur in KNP.

In your garden and you needed all those clues? IMBERBE!

This is indeed a very beautiful plant with its bright red and yellow flame-like petals, hence the name. Gardeners should be very careful with this plant because all its parts are highly toxic. Porcupines, strangely enough dig up and devour all parts of this plant. Is that why they are called "Ystervark" (trl. Iron Pig) in Afrikaans? The Ndebele and Zulu people use it as a topical application. Do not try this without supervision from a doctor or qualified herbalist. Pharmaceutical tests are being done, but as far as we know, results are still unknown. (Source: Margaret Robberts: Indigenous Healing Plants. 1997)

 But I started in my garden ... I have Adenias in my garden too!

OK, people tend to think of big animals and of those with long teeth and claws as dangerous.

There is one antelope species which has a reputation of being deadly. Name it and give the reason.

Googles not helping

Piecing bits of their behaviour together, I can imagine that being that they use camophlague(Spelling  ) to stay hidden, and on many occasions dash out from beneath you in the undergrowth, their aggression, solitary life style, small size(Meaning they have to defend or run{which they often don't}), territoriality, lack of speed, and sharp horns would all add up to this being one aggressive and dangerous buck to surprise or corner?!!

My father and I breed Nyala and Bushbuck, among other things, and have to keep them seperated, because the Bushbuck rams will kill each other, and the Nyala bulls. If this is cause of some genetic thing, I give up! I also know many hunters are vary of this buck, and often hunt them with shot guns.....To avoid that unlucky and potentialy deadly miss :slap:

Good explanation ...

The easy answer is that they are the most feared antelope amongst hunters. They have a reputation that they would attack a hunter should they have been wounded.

You're IT

We agree with KJ's violin spider, Family:Loxoscelidae species: Loxosceles spiniceps This spider has a very strong haemotoxin that can cause serious scarring We are not sure about the fatality, but this is the second most dangerous spider in SA.
The other, more deadly spider is the black widow. Family Theridiidae species: Latrodectus mactans
