It means "many women" and is where a single male exclusively has many females, most common in mammals, both territorial and non-territorial species.

1#Home ranges are bigger/same size, but never smaller then a territory.

2# A home range can contain a territory, a territory can't contain a home range.

3# Territories are generally species specific(defended against members of own species), where a home range is not defended.
