Hi,

Could anyone please tell me what a Num-Num is? I'm doing my level 1 and my guide book makes mention of this edible plant, nut I can't seem to find anymore info on it? :?

Thanks!

Now you are asking - I am not very good at common names but I think it is Carissa macrocarpa

Xmanthis,

There are two species: Num-num (Carissa bispinosa) and Natal Plum or Big Num-num (Carissa macrocarpa)

Here are links to PLantzAfrica, a handy site to find most SA plants:

Natal Plum

thank you soooo much Jeanus and Imax - was really stuck with this one! So weird to me that they used the common name and not the scientific name :slap:

FGASA level I does not require any real knowledge of scientific names.

You just reminded me to book the exam venue for this area. Oh Oh and marking.

Jeanus - Olax dissitiflora - Small sour plum? But they can be very sour hey. You just suck that little bit of flesh out between the skin and pip, else it gets to much!

WOW you really know you're stuff

(level 1)I know... but I'm a little obsessive  can't leave good enough alone, my brain won't rest until I've gathered all possible information

Ok now I'm just milking you for info, (sorry) but do you perhaps know when the first exams are next year, cos I won't be able to make this year

PS you're lucky to be on the marking end and not the test end
