I hear that an over doze of Silver Cluster leaves (5 leaves or more) is just as good as a local anesthetic for a root canal. Anyone tried that before?

I once had to use a wattle leave, but that was preceding breakfast on the Bushman's trail.

Hungry this morning?

A few drop of Tamboti on the hole in your tooth will give the desired numbing effect. But please! Do not eat the leaves WTM!

On my ranger course, while the tutor was telling us about Magic Guarrie, he told us it was good to eat and encouraged us to chew a few leaves. I did not spoil the moment - just pretended to chew. The faces of the rest of the group were a picture of total disgust!!!!!! They were well and truly taken in - but it was one plant no one forgot.

Aaahhh, die ou tande borsel bos (toothbrush bush).

I also chewed on it once to build myself a toothbrush on a morning walk from Skuz I think it was. Didn't eat the leaves thou.

Also had a good few marulas and even attempted to chomp on the wors of a worsboom (sausage tree). I can easily think of 10 better things to sink one's teeth in.

Have you ever tried baobab fruit? I love sucking the flesh of the pips. It's got quite a refreshing flavor, just wish I could convince the greengrocer to stock them. :?

Wtm if by silver cluster leaf you mean Terminalia sericia watch how many of those leaves you chew it is a rather powerful alternative to imodium. Too much can cause serious constipation.

If you are looking for a good analgesic or pain killer your best choice is probably the sickle bush.

A good remidy for your hangover is a tea from the bark of the huilboerboon (I hope I spelt this correctly dyslexia and a language you only got used to in adulthood do not mix well).

The three together are a good bet after a heavy night on the town where strange concoctions have gone down the throat.

Specialy for your little black book watch the tree quizze - I asked for the name of an afredisiac for men and another for women. the answer should add some spice to the little black book
