:o I think I get this one!!!

PL (The H1-2 road?)

You take a quick detour to perhaps have a drink.
The loop off the H1-2 going around the Elephant Waterhole
Then you back on the road, or at least that's what you think!
OH NO!!! There are goal posts, but what is the score?
Is it 1-2 to the home team or simply 12 all?
The road H1-2 or H12?

If you see one of the five drink from a hole
Elephant
And a small head, that shares a name, I am told,
When you say small you mean big-Elephant Waterhole :?
With dam and a resting place and a memory they all hold.
Kruger Memorial Tablets
Now I don't think you need anymore for by now you should know that you chose the right score.
H1-2

It's your next stop that's crucial, of that I am sure.
For Paul and the gate and the statue that's tall
Paul Kruger Gate
All have an aliment for which you hold the cure!
I'm guessing the cure is the Marula?

OK so I probably won't get it right but that was really fun!

Candy's Style You are so, so there, but not quite what I want.
I think you had more that 1 drink at the detour

Most of your answers are right but in the wrong places. (your 2nd & 6th ones are spot on)

Trying going to the airport, pick up a map and start your hunt again and I'm sure this time you will end at the correct spot with the correct cure.

You've done well   keep going. Glad you having fun, that's what it's all about!!

P.S. I don't mean big by saying small. It really is a small head but maybe in another tongue, as some others are :) :) :)

The Kruger Tablets

I do not have a map with me but there is a dam where the H12 splits off the H1-2 - the detour to have a drink.

The the choice between the two roads.

Choose the H1-2 which have the Elephant Waterhole on it - one of the 5 drink from a hole.

The small head I am still struggling with.

Paul, the gate and the statue = Kruger

Tablets = the cure

@naomi c: you could be on to something!

@RosemaryH  Now you've got my mother involved to :D

How about the Jakkalbessie Bush Camp? It is on the way to the airport and could be the small animal head you refereing to. The bark and the roots of the Jakkalsbessie tree is used for curing diseases.

The small head - the three "heads" in front of Skukuza reception?

Resting place = Skukuza, named after Stevenson-Hamilton

Dam = Piet Grobler Dam

Memory? Cannot find the link to the third "head", Paul Kruger's.

Hey naomi c, I been wondering where you have been? LONG weekend hey.
Well Done you named the spot
Candy's Style you did pretty well there, got a bit dizzy on the Marula that's all
Loved all the other options and good idea's for other riddles!!
Candy asking you to go to the airport I was trying to get you to come along the road from that direction and see the following:

You take a quick detour to perhaps have a drink.
Maroela Loop

Then you back on the road, or at least that's what you think!
OH NO!!! There are goal posts, but what is the score?
Is it 1-2 to the home team or simply 12 all?
Choosing between staying on the H1-2 or not

If you see one of the five drink from a hole
Olifantdrinkgat

And a small head, that shares a name, I am told,
With dam and a resting place and a memory they all hold.
Now I don't think you need anymore for by now you should know that you chose the right score.
You will then pass the Orpen Memorial Koppie!! That's the small head :) Orpen camp, Orpen Dam(shares the same name) all have memorial plaques in rememberance of Eileen Orpen. Seeing this would confirm you stayed on the right road.[/color]

It's your next stop that's crucial, of that I am sure.
For Paul and the gate and the statue that's tall
Paul Kruger, Kruger Gate and the Kruger statue, confirming Kruger

All have an aliment for which you hold the cure!
You then arrive at the KRUGER TABLETS!!

That was brilliant RosemaryH!

I had the answer correct but that was about all!

Was thinking about the Orpen though. Wish I was at home with a detailed Kruger map.

Really great fun!!

Thanks naomi :) You pretty good at this, especially considering you not at home with maps etc. I have just as much fun thinking them up along with maybe learning something I never knew about the park!!

PL

Up here on my own, I carry, just a dozen and three
And I feel I'm alone with the butterfly trees.
"She shy" I keeping hearing, but maybe only a tweak.
For there's a boy that keeps yelling BUT the baby still sleeps,
In the shade of that big tree where the birds have a feast!

Now, the big one remains here, there are signs to be seen
Both in and around me, amongst all my serene.
For that's what they do here, if you know what I mean.
"It's like a pit for the dead" I've often heard being said.

I watch as the Kings often gain a meal or two
And the resident slothy horse, rid her spots of the dew!
At the end of the day, when all's said and done
You'll feel the calm and tranquillity, as you say cheers to the sun.

Boyela

Baby sleeps = Babalala

And that's as far as I could get.
