IMBERBE #12: VIRTUAL BUSHWALK (QM)

Unread postby Imberbe » Tue Oct 30, 2007 3:41 pm

Hi guys. This is a "quiz" but also an experience thread. I will be taking you on a virtual walk through the Kruger bush. On the way we will experience sights and sounds, and get to know nature in a new way. This is an exploration!

When I take people on a walk I like to ask them questions! So I will also be asking you some questions. Lets see how much you can teach the others!

This will be a real calm walk. No rushing! (Who knows what we may miss!) So don't rush me! Well take our time and enjoy nature in all its splendour.

All are welcome! Who is coming along?

OK lets go ... or at least ... lets stop a moment and ask ... why?

Why are we taking this walk? Is it to look a roaring lion in the eye, and live to boast about it? Is it to chase a herd of elephant from a waterhole, or to see how close we can get to a sleeping rhino, so that we can experience the adrenalin rush?

No, this is about becoming one with nature! To get out of our metal vehicle, leaving our technologically impoverished world, and re-establish our contact with creation.

Here the small trapdoor spider, and beautiful flower of the Cape Honeysuckle, is as important as the big things we usually chase after! Here we realise we are merely a small part of the bigger picture!

So, let's go ...

How did you find that? Similar to provoking an ant lion into attacking a grass leave?  Isn't that human interference too?

A first-class guide & great company. :D I'm looking forward to this walk!

When, in the hot of the day, we find a nice Natal Mahogony we will join the animals and take a rest. But ... it is still early, the sun has just shown his face above the tree tops, so lets go. :D

But first, our safety briefing ...

Please remember the following golden rules when walking in the bush:

At all times listen to and obey your guide. Your guide is responsible for your safety!
Please do not make any loud noises, nor talk while we are walking.
Stay in close contact with the group, do not leave the group nor stop to take a photo while the group moves on.
Please do ask questions!

And very important! Never run! (Except when your guide orders you to! )

Question: Why must you not run?

does this statement have anything to do with it?

Coz first rifle told us not to!?! :D
And some blabla like "If... when... I'll have to shoot you first" :?

Sorry Imberbe... don't mean to spoil your quiz, but it's late here and me in a bit of a goofy mood.
