has anyone stayed at the forest huts at storm river? what was your experience? did they have private bathrooms?

Hi JanetcapeT, and welcome! I haven't stayed in the Forest Huts, but according to the SANParks website they have do not have private bathrooms.

We have just got back from our stay in the forest huts at Tsitsikamma. One has to use communal bathrooms as well as a communal kitchen. The bathroom facilities are great but the kitchen facilities are not up to scratch at all. I will be informing the park in due course about their kitchen facilities. Don't let that put you off though because it is a great park to visit.
