This is a very nice pic of a reedbuck very young male Ice. Bushbuck are DARK brown to almost black and have lovely Chevron markings across their neck and nose.

Can anyone please tell me if they think these 2 Reedbuck are the same variety, ie is one a Mountain Reed buck and the other the Common or are they both the same?
We saw them in two different locations in Kruger.

Both are Southern Reedbuck (sometimes called Common)
2 reasons - the horns are longer and more widly spread than the mountain and note the dark line down the frount legs in both pictures - this is absent in the mountain reedbuck.

Thanks RP,

If I remember correctly and have them in the right order, I think,
pic 1. was seen was on the H5 between Letaba and Olifants and the other one was where one usually sees Reedbuck, the H10.
We did initially think they might be the 2 different varieties. :?

Only place I am sure that I have seen them - along the reed beds and the Nshawu waterholes on the S50.

In this little video, you see the Southern or Common Reedbuck that I filmed near Lower Sabie on the H10 at the Muntshe waterhole.

Hi guys,

Firstly I saw these two just after we entered Phabeni gate last week Sunday.

I know the photos aren't very clear, but any help will be appreciated.

Then yesterday I saw these two close to Lower Sabie.

I'm a bit confused with all the smaller antelopes, but maybe I will know a bit more if someone can help me with these.

Thanks !
