Kingfisher, Mangrove: Have you had the honour?

An interesting read brought me to this post, according to a fellow birder who is knowledgeable on birds not many people have not had the honour of seeing this KF.
Have you had the pleasure ?

No, I haven't... And I walked with a bloke in Kruger the other day who had 650+ birds on his list and neither did he. He said that it was his bogey bird as he even live in close proximity to the area they are found in.

Me neither

I was at Mtunzini last summer: turns out the bird has some degree of local movement in that it migrates south; transkei way. I dipped on it but made up for it with African Broadbill and Narina Trogon at Sobhengu on the Nibela Peninsula overlooking Lake St Lucia.

Saw a breeding pair at Dwesa nature reserve (Transkei) during the December holidays.

Another pic showing the characteristic red bill and grey crown.

(They were on show for 10 days in a row :D)

Great sighting! Superbly done. It is the last Kingfisher on my outstanding list.
