The thing is that I don't know how do these animals look, and i was trying to dare someone, so they uploaded the picts...

This is not fair, I have not seen any one of the above. Over how many years has it taken to see the elusive eleven ?

On pieice of advice bentley, nothing is fair. On your next trip you could see half a dozen of them......or none.

Sidestriped Jackal

So after this trip I can add serval

W@H, at least you have seen all three little felines...

Until reading this forum had not heard of the Elusive Eleven. I have now added them on my list of must see. I have seen some but not in SANP parks

Let the quest begin

Got them all - it's one of the great perks of being a jeepjocky/boatjocky/footjocky. I get to be out there all the time. I must admit though I've only had a few sightings of each over the whole 33 years (this is minus 10 aberrant years spent as an Interior designer when I could only visit) I've lived in the bush. I have had sightings of all in San parks but my most recent serval was not so I can't make you all green with envy. I do have a (probably not pure) black footed cat named Bonsai who shares my life (a pet she is not).

Have seen all except the Porcupine.

But, how is this for a sighting? We saw the LESSER CANE RAT, in the camp at Punda Maria with the Civet on it's heels, hunting the Rat next to our safari tent!

Now thats a sighting!!

African Civet - twice in KNP on night drives at Letaba and Maroela

African Wild Cat - Mombo Botswana once

Porcupine - South Luangwa Zambia (7 on 1 night drive!!!)

Serval - Mombo Botswana once

Sidestriped Jackal - Mombo Botswana twice
