We take our own meat up - in fact something for the what I do thread, I supply Pick 'n Pay Butcheries, hotels - you name them, and a lot of the restaurants in CT.

No offence to the shops in the park, but I don't eat boerewors that comes from anywhere except Woolworths or my deboning factory. As for meat I dont buy anywhere as I get the best quality there is for free!! :D

We usually buy from Spar the day before going in. There are a couple of really fantastic Spars in Nelspruit, owned by the same chap. If any of you pass through that way on the N4 when going to the Park I'd really suggest stopping at the one at the Crossings centre - both the butchery and bakery are great.

Interesting what you say about Woolies meat Bwana. Exactly how does this fit in with domain parking? (It's an Angels right to be nosy!)

Guilty as charged! (if I understand what you are saying?)

But, but, but....

Dude!

*sigh* Your profile says your website is: http://www.noseyparker.co.za/ - which last week said something about domain parking, but now is simply not found.

Anyway... importing of meat... why on earth would anyone want to bring meat into SA? SA has the nicest meat on earth!!! I sure wish you'd start exporting some of it to Tesco's in the UK though *drool*

Mmm... So you clicked on a link which is called "NOSEY PARKER"....

South Africa is a net importer of meat. Mostly from South America - Beef, Pork, Chicken, Australia - A little lamb/mutton, and Asia - LOADS of Chicken.
But ya, our meat is the best, no doubt!!

I have to admit, I did enjoy reading this thread. What I am going to enjoy even more is the day Meg gets W@H back. You are messing with a mom-to-be, very dangerous and foolish or your part W@H.

Now, to get back to the subject. I always enjoyed the venison pie and gravy until I had a reaction to malaria pills. Unfortunately that was the last thing I ate before becoming extremely ill. I can't even look at them now.

We always take our own meat which has been vaccuum packed and solidly frozen. Depending on the length of the trip the meat is packed between blocks of dry ice in a cooler box insulated with newspaper and tin foil. Works a charm :D

Also take our own meat etc. Use to buy meat when it was still supplied by local butcheries (towns surrounding the Park). Best rump steak we ever had was bought in Letaba and came from butchery in Phalaborwa.
The meat supplied by Jumbo, current supplier, is definitely not our taste – especially when it has no expiry date and a greenish colour.

Yip, don’t think that is what my mother intended when she said that I have to eat more greens.
