I've been contacted by a couple of you, suggesting I have a look at this forum.
I haven't been on here for a while, and coming back somewhat belated, I get a strange feeling that I've missed something.
Sorry about that!
Francoisd thanks for your E-mail.
Gwen, thanks for giving JvR the bone.
And JohanvR, apologies for neglecting you guys on here.
Be alert - SA needs lerts!!!
Not sure where I should start.
Okay, I'll begin by saying I'm assisting at the first Punda weekend. I'm not camp leader, but will be there to keep all of you on the straight and narrow.
No complaints about getting stuck in a truck will be considered this year, as a terrible day in Kruger, is a lot better than a good day at the office.
JohanvR, I've neglected you again! Sorry.
The norm is that you should have been contacted by now by your camp leader, although each leader has his own modus operandii. It's just a call to say hello, and introduce him/herself to you. You could then be sent an E-mail, giving you a rough outline of what to expect on the weekend - but again each camp leader has his/her own way of doing things.

If you have any stupid questions, please E-mail them to: info@stupidquestions.co.za, and once again, all complaints can be sent to: complaints@tellsomeonewhocares.co.za

JohanvR and others, I hope this helps - even a little bit.
I'll send out an E-mail to camp leaders, telling them that questions are being asked here.

For those of you that want to speak to me, I'll be very brave and give you my cell number : (PM for Number - edit by gwen)

Cheers
Wiggie.

I have NO complaints nor stupid questions to lodge, Wiggie. I think your post will create the awareness of

Thanks again

See you there! Johann and I are pretty well behaved but the same cannot be said of Jakkalsbessie and Bosnimf though.

You forgot to add that this is just your humble opinion!

If anyone is interested we have a 2 sleeper hut available at Orpen for the BB Week-end. We had originally booked for our son but, as a teacher, he cannot leave school in time to get to Orpen on Friday. We have put feelers out to friends, but if anyone is interested please contact me here and we can see if we can make arrangements.

What do all this chit-chat have to do with the Honorary Rangers?

Hi Frederik,

The West Rand Honorary Rangers are organising a Kruger Park Birding Weekend. Have you ever been to one of their birding weekends?

What a great weekend we had at Punda Maria!!

Our group the "Off Coursers" listed a combined total of 208 birds. Hanno Langenhoven is busy preparing one of his very detailed trip reports for the SABirdNet and will also be posting the Kruger part here on the Forum.

Was also nice to meet RangerPiet and his SO who joined us on our vehicle and also made their lists stretch although his SO beat him in that department as RangerPiet sometimes found himself on the wrong side of the vehicle

Hi francois. Congrats on your new birds!

It was great to meet in person! I'm entering our sightings at the moment and I'll submit my new total before the 2nd of Feb.

In the mean time I've posted our trip report and some photo's in the Trip report section of the forum:
