Great news indeed, thanks Elsa. When staying at Satara for a longer period we usually add this road as a option to our morning drive. Had great sightings on it as well.

As of Wednesday, still closed...
Spent 8 days in the area, the other roads are shocking at the moment.

S126
S140
S36
S106
S127
S125
S126
S39
S40
S100
H2-2

All Shockers, but some not too bad.

Actually don't think there is one road that didn't have corrugations that I drove on this holiday.
The above all had corrugations and bush encroachment.
Never seen the roads that bad.
Sad as the good rains should have afforded them the opportunity to grade out the corrugations.
Not to add that the S106 is like a highway, with all the staff busses and taxis, and everyone does 50Km+ on the road.

Eventually both my bumpers came loose, window winder mechanism rattled apart, my boot sounds like a bag of bolts and 1 tyre damaged.

Some places are so bad, I was driving less than 10 km at times as the car was just bouncing all over the place.

Added a lovely 5K to my holiday expenses.

That sounds awful! Hope they act on your list of roads. I wondered last August how they could claim the S roads were sedan friendly, as I also remember bouncing all over the place in a Polo at 10kms and hour!

The S36 and S39 were roads I was hoping to drive too :(

S39 is ok'ish........

corrugations are smaller, but it is a beautiful drive.

Thanks - I'll risk it! Do the graders work constantly? Last year was really bumpy!

Can they grade roads in the winter?

you can, but you need wet roads to affectively grade the corrugations.
