Oh shame! The first Hyena really looks sad (or very sleepy!)

Clear irritation on the 2nd one's face - those ..... ticks and fleas!

I shot this guy on the upper dune road in December at 09:25am. We were quite surprised to see a Brownie at that time of the day.

Beautiful! What an experience coming across these animals during daytime!

We found 3 Brownies at the Waterhole and as describe in Guss book they didn't drink together and wait their turn.
This one finish and look back at the other two before moving away.

Thank you for sharing your moment with us! Hopefully we see more brown hyena during our forthcoming visit in May 2013. Gr8 photograph!

Beautiful (stunning) photographs of spotted and brown hyena.
During our August 2012 (1st ever) visit, we didn't see a single spotted hyena. Hopefully during May 2013 we will have a better chance.

Glad you like the idea....now it is time to post that sightings....
We were one of the first cars at Mata Mata gate and was rewarded with Hyenas returning from the night and stop for a pose
The sun was just rising over the dunes and painted the Hyena in red.(This is one of my best images of the Spotted Hyena)

Beautiful photograh.
During May 2013 we will be visiting KTP only for the second time. Hopefully we will see Spotted Hyena. During our fist visit (August 2012) we only saw Brown Hyena. :)
