Hi all,

My SO and I have 2 weeks mid to end June this year, and we're hoping to visit Addo, MZ, (possibly Camedoo) and The Garden Route - I fancy staying at Storms River Mouth Rest Camp
and the Tree top cabins in the Knysna Lakes Section.

We will by renting a car and flying in and out of PE. Is this too ambitious?

Thoughts, comments and recommendations welcomed.
 :gflower:

This is the order that I would visit the parks:

Arrive PE Airport
Addo
Mountain Zebra
Camdeboo
Kynsna
Storm River
Depart PE Airport.

I have visited all the parks with the exception of Kynsna Lakes.
When I plan my itineries I start with the principle of only drive down a road once. The above does that.
It saves money, time and duplication.

How long at each park is a matter of opinion, however I would suggest:
Addo - 3/4 days
Mountain Zebra - 3 days
Camdeboo - 1 day - its a small park - I would travel from MZ arriving early afternoon in time for a trip up to the valley of desolation and the damm area. Overnight B&B in Graaf Reinet and followed by another visit to the park departing early/mid afternoon
Kynsna Lakes - 2 nights
Storm river - 3 nights. Whilst at Storm river you will have plenty of time to visit the Eastern part of the Garden Route.

Hope this helps
Regards
JDW

Sounds OK to me JDW If you cant get into the knysna cabin there is always the Wilderness Ebb and flo camp and from there there are plenty of walks Very beautiful.

Thanks for the recommendations - we're booking the treetops cabin just now for our 11 year wedding anniversary. Cannot wait!

The itinerary provided by JDW looks great -
Arrive PE Airport
Addo
Mountain Zebra
Camdeboo
Kynsna
Storm River
Depart PE Airport.

I haven't stayed at Mountain Zebra so cannot comment on that but I stayed at Addo last year and stayed at Camdeboo, Knysna and Storms River two weeks ago. As commended, Camdeboo is quite small but the Valley of Desolation is amazing to see! The Sanparks accommodation is not wow at Camdeboo - we stayed in the tented camps - don't get me wrong - the accommodation is more than adequate for one night - but some people may not like the showers etc. and it is a bit rustic especially when compared to the accommodation at Tree Tops Chalet (which is AMAZING!!!) and Storms River.

The distance between Tree Tops and Storms River is maybe 60km so not much at all but remember there is a tollgate between the two (R 38) so quite expensive. I would suggest then that you try and cover Wilderness area and inland from Tree Tops and from Storms River you can go on the first part of the otter trail and also visit other attractions in the area including the Big Tree (free with a wild card) and canopy tours.

Enjoy!!!
