Nymania capensis
Afrikaans name: Klapperbos
English: Chinese lanterns
This plant grow up to 2.5 m tall,flowers are light pink to red and the fruit are inflated.
A palatable plant. There is also only one Nymania-specie in South- Africa.

Ok I have covered all scrubs and trees for AFNP, by means of the pics, I will post pics of plants like the annuals and herbacious types,bulbs and so on.Most of the time visitors to our National Parks do not have the oppurtunity to see them,so this will basically be just a window for those who are interested and just want to learn more. :)

Native to Central America, also widespread in South-Africa
Annual herb/prostrate
It can produce up to 3000 seeds per plant.
Ants may be the dispersal agents.
Also a medicinal herb.

This specie might occur in the park,I have found it outside the park and because I'm posting Euphorbias just thought that I can also include this one.

There is still 2 species of Euphorbias which I have to find in the Park, in the mean time here is some other plants which not even park staff have seen before, or simply does not know what it is:
They usually pop up after rain.
