gavingillham wrote:Elsa, I have read all the entries regarding sightings for Talamati camp, which now has left me in doubt as to whether I should book at Talamati camp or Sukuza. I am intending to be in the Kruger around the 18 March this year; your advice will be very helpful (I do a lot of photograph)

i got to meet Gavin at Talamati and that was special.

good luck with the sightings Gav.

hello mites

the game drives at talamati have been quite impressive. moreover guests had very great sightings on their private vehicles, of cheetah(several times), leopard, you name it.

im still struggling to get usable material due to dense bushes.

Hopefully the bush will start thinning out a bit soon!
but sounds like there have been some wonderful sightings there in any case.

the little dry condition is bringing with it amazing sightings yet again.

last night on sunset drive we saw two male lions that were following a herd of buffalo on a hunting attempt. it's quite logical because this time around there is a lot of calves.

Thanks for the updates Ras.
Would this be the Patrick who was based at Lower Sabie in 2010?

hi Granjan, will monitor them for you. i will have one in a leash by the time you get here  hopefully.

no Mandinga, a different Patrick.

the sightings are relatively good currently. actually on the 12th i saw a pack of 18+ dogs on the s145/s36 junction. i was informed they have been around that area for almost 5 days.

hello mites and talamatians.

yesterday sunset drive was very productive. i went with one of our regular visitors, the Ross family and we saw side-striped jackal, rhino fighting, a female leopard which we located by her call and plenty more general game.

later on the night drive we found the two male rhinos still at it. i guess that's how things are settled in the bush. later on we saw a porcupine, then towards the end of the drive surprise surprise, an AARDVARK!!  :D

that is my definiton of a special day at work. :D
