The rest of the day was quiet, but we saw our first Cheetah's posing against the beautiful red dunes

Image

Again the sad sight of the many dead Eland's

Image

On our way back to the camp a Secretarybird was patrolling and looking for food

Image

The only Gemsbok we saw was the two in front of the office with a bonus Drongo...

Our last night at TR and use the opportunity to capture a few sunset images
Love the bird in the corner

Thank you all for all the positive comments

We booked in at Nossob and rested until our afternoon drive.

We spend some time at Cubitje Quap hoping the Lions will come and drink ,but with no luck.

The only sightings were doves and small birds visiting the waterhole.

Image

On our way back the Old Male decided that the coolest place is the road, and did not even move when we pasted him. I think it must be the same Male drinking at Nossob and seen on the Web cam uploads.

Image

He only opened his eyes when we drive past him.

Image

Our first Cheetah sighting were two males walking near the camp.

Day 5:

We decided to drive to Unies end for the day. It is a around trip of +- 280km but turn out to be one of our best days ever!!

We were the first car at Bedinkt and found 3 Brown Hyenas. As per Guss Mills book on the Brown Hyenas they didn't drink together, but wait until one is finished and then the next on had a drink. Presumably the dominant one drinks first and then the lower raking ones.

Please allow me to upload many images over the next few days of the ones in a life time sighting. (If you are getting board please say so and I will move on.)

Thank you all for the comments

We did not see any Brown Hyenas on our 5 previous trips and one of my aims was to first see one and then photograph them. Aim achieved, so please enjoy all the images.

This one was drinking, but always keeps his eye on the one waiting in the queue.

Thank you all for the comments and views.

Sheenaugh-Lee: Agree with Saraf info and Guss Book, enjoyed every page to the incite of Brown Hyenas)

NetEk: They were about 10 meters from the car (only have a 400mm and dream about a 500mm)

The one finished drinking and gave the other one a "grow".

Thank you Sharifa an Salva for the positive comments

May be it is the Meerkat Manor program, but for many years one of my aims was to photograph the little Meerkats. On our previous visits they were always just too far or we could not find them.

Will post my dream images of them over the next few days.

Everything was perfect - light, poses and with a perfect background.

Enjoy and hopefully understand why I am so happy with my dream images.
