Someone suggested that we should kill these Parakeets on site. Now what is the reason? Do they compete with indigenous birds for food?

Hi GP! They actually survive your winters  ?

Yip! They roost in huge numbers next to the parliament buildings. The trees really look green in the evenings even though there are no leaves. They're even more gregarious in winter when they're not breeding. Then they go quiet at least...

@Rooies - In large cities like The Hague, your common House Sparrow is a protected species because of, for one, the invasion of the parakeets. :sniper: They're very aggressive and like the Mynah basically, won't tolerate any other bird in its little corner.

The same with the Egyptian Geese. We HATE them because they just take over. They already had their young to make sure they get all the food. :wall:

Ruddy Ducks are wiping out the native White-headed duck. Mink are decimating our voles. All these introduced/feral species are rubbish. Why can't we have something decent like Leopards or Elephants.
