I'm still battling to distinguish between familiar chat and chat flycatcher. :wall: This one I'm thinking is a chat flycatcher, because of the shape of the bill and the lighter edges of the wing feathers. Did I get it right this time? Seen in KTP on 5 March 2010

Chat Flycatcher 8)

The Light edges on the wing and beak shape give him away

Hi Anne-Marie

I think the first bird could be a Chat Flycatcher (it is definitely not some type of lark).

Would like to hear what other members think.

hope this was helpful.

Hi ann marie,
Are you convinced the pairs are of the same birds? They look different to me.
Chat Flycatcher is fine for the 2nd of the first two but number 1 does not look right.

I at first thought that this was a familiar chat, but now, looking more closely, particularly at the tail, I'm wondering whether it might be something else? Seen in KTP in early November 2012.

My guess would lean towards sicklewinged chat, but they're not supposed to occur in KTP?

Kgalagadi this week.

Looks a bit like a flycatcher to me but I can't 'book' it.

Sorry for the quality, but it was a long shot.
