I saw a photo on the Fred Miranda site of a White Throated Monitor Lizard in Shing camp.

Do you get in White Throated Monitors in Kruger?

White throated monitors are also known as rock monitors. The scientific name Varanus albigularis actually comes from albi = white + gular=throat + some latin extensions :)

Both rock and water monitors are very common throughout Kruger.

Ah-ha, I thought there couldn’t be an animal in Kruger that was that big, without me knowing about it.

Thank you BushSnake, I was getting a little concerned for my self-confidence there!

Thanks haileyidaho

It’s crop from one of my very first wildlife photos and reminds me how sitting in a UK wood in the middle of the night can give you the Creeeeps after a trip to Kruger!

Cute our Badgers are, but like all badgers everywhere, they are tough as they come.

Though maybe a little out classed by the Honey B I saw at Satara chasing off the meenest looking hyena you ever did see that was ten times it’s size!
