Unfortunately non of the lifers came from the Kruger. We birded some areas outside Kruger on our way there.

Kruger however did produce some great birds with loads of Eagles, Nightjars, Harlequin Quail, Dusky Lark, Olive Tree-Warbler and of course the Big 5. The bush is lush and green and I am sure that it will be great for Crakes in the next few weeks.

Are you doing BBW at Satara as well?

Few lifers in that Satara list for me :)

I am going to Punda this weekend. I pre-booked Letaba for Wednesday - but with the road closed @ Shing, will have to leave the park again and go to Punda on the outside of the Park :( :D

Up to 629 with a few birds after a weekend's birding in Kruger. Setting a target of 650 for the end of the year. It might be a bit high as I'm not sure if I'll be able to do any long trips this year. I'm sure there will be lots of fun in trying to get there at least.

On the way:
627 Short-tailed Pipit Anthus brachyurus Kortstertkoester
628 Broad-tailed Warbler Schoenicola brevirostris Breëstertsanger

Punda Maria:
629 Ovambo Sparrowhawk Accipiter ovampensis Ovambosperwer
Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

Latest lifers from Kruger NP:
Black Coucal Centropus grillii Swartvleiloerie
Flappet Lark Mirafra rufocinnamomea Laeveldklappertjie

Well done Johann, I am sure some dedicated weekend birding can get you to 650 before the end of the year :D

I moved up to 769. It is really hard work to get lifers now!! 800 seems a lifetime away
