Ok here we go again.......so sad that some memories are starting to fade...
Friday 21 December AfternoonRoute for the afternoon: S82 - H4-2 - S137 - S28 - H4-2
Being back at camp so early, we decided on an afternoon drive.
It was a fairly quiet drive until we saw this fantastic creature hiding behind the bushes.

Then only did we see the reason why………….

While watching these 2 creatures I sent a message to heaven asking Him to keep her and her young safe.
We were about 1km before Duke's waterhole, contemplating whether we would have time to go there when an oncoming car stopped us. The guy told us that there was nothing at the waterhole but if we carry on to the S28 and drive about 3kms towards the S107 where we will find....

After sitting with then for quite some time we decided to go to Nthahdanyathi Hide.
Saw some biggies in the water….

As we were coming out of the hide we saw an ellie coming straight for it!!! It was still some distance away so we couldn’t decide to rather get into the bakkie or wait it out inside the hide. Just as we went out the gate having decided on the bakkie and keeping a very close eye on the ellie a hippo decided to snort…….we basically jumped from the gate straight into the bakkie without touching the ground….

We drove off as the ellie came past…After all that excitement we needed a quiet drive back to camp. Half way there we met up with a yellow ribbon who called himself “eenoog”. Not sure if there is someone like that here but they gave a wonderful sighting! About 500m after the bridge on the H10 there are 4 ******** being lazy.

Just before we got to the cheetahs we saw this guy next to the road, but I very politely asked him to wait until we return from the sighting we he did.

By now it was time to return to camp before the gate closes and we had to take this last pic of the beautiful sunset.
