Hi Everyone

I was feeling a bit homesick and watched some of our old video clips this afternoon. And oh my, did that bring back memories. They tell their own tale. Before I knew it, I was on the youtube watching all kinds of clips of sightings in Kruger and Kgalagadi. Hearing the sounds of the bush and the people commenting in Afrikaans or English made me smile.

I thought it would be a fun idea to start a topic where people can share some of their memories by posting video clips of sightings or activities inside SANParks. I will start off with a few of my favorite video clips.

This first one was filmed on our first sunset drive with Martie at Lower Sabie, KNP




On that same sunset drive, we saw 2 male lions. They were roaring right next to us. It felt like the earth was moving and my youngest son (who was on his very first sunset drive) couldn't stop laughing. He thought it was very funny. He said it sounded like the lions voice got stuck as he kept on saying 'huh huh huh'....





My 10 year old son and I saw this pair of mating lions just outside Pretoriuskop KNP one morning. He asked lots and lots of questions about what the lions was doing and why?




This clip was taken a few minutes later. ' Pfff, It's hard work keeping each other happy'




On our last trip to kruger, we spend almost an hour at this bridge. The baboons were having so much fun, and my children loved watching them.

I just love video clips. They tell their own stories and the bush sounds are amazing.


We saw this little elephant a few years ago in KNP. Still so clumsy and adorable




On one of Marties night drives in Lower Sabie we saw these lions. What a thrill to see them in the dark and in an open vehicle

This next clip was also taken in Kruger. It's the first time I heard the noises rhinos make. Turn your volume up and see how the one rhino intimidate the other.

Here's a video I made at Biyamiti camp. We were watching the rhinos at the fence, when a big heard of elephants came for a drink as well. Amazing to see that standing inside camp

This clip was taken at the Sweni bird hide in 2010. Crocodiles feasted on a hippo carcass. It was the first time we stopped at the Sweni hide, and certainly not the last

At the Sunset dam near lower sabie, we saw these hippo's showing off their teeth. I think the mom is teaching her child how to do it.

This is a clip of the birdhide in Shimuwini. This is one of my favorite spots to relax and enjoy nature.

Some ellies just don't like cars. I'm just so glad I was on the other side. I have a huge fear of Elephants.

This video was taken from the guest cottage number 15 at Orpen camp. We've seen lots and lots of animals from inside camp that day. Here I filmed elephants having a drink.
