AstroMatt, Franco told us too of Safran and her cub ( apparently she had two and then only seen with one), but we could not find her during our November or December trip.

Great to see this photo!!!

@Evel - Many thanks for posting your very interesting series of pix of Dakotah and Gertie:mrgreen: , and for sending the details to AstroMatt. :gflower:

@jacowolmarans - Welcome and thank you for posting N!xau and Safran.  Super sighting!

@Sharifa - Thanx for posting Leopard Magnet! :gflower:

Lovely to see N!xau after all this time!

@AstroMatt and Mario Fazekas - Thank you for the evidence!

@lion queen - thanx for the extra info on Safran!

As AstroMatt said, the 'rumour no more' of the leopard and cub at Ljiersdraai has been around KTP for some time. Mario saw Safran and the cub on the 22nd of November. If anybody else out there has pix of Safran and her cub, please post.

What is the cub eating up in the tree ? Looks horribly like a jackal ?

Not wanting to be the harbinger of bad news, but regarding Safran's cub, Dr Matthew Schurch mentioned that N!xau may have killed it to bring Safran back on heat.

Yes, a possibility, NOT a certainty! Until more forumites post or report to AstroMatt re Safran and her cub, we do not know whether the cub is still alive. N!xau may also be the father of the cub. If so, the cub is safe, and N!xau will check on Safran every now and then to see when she is ready to mate again.

Thanks for clearing that up Wanderw :gflower: , you are right that it could be either possibility and we shalln't know for sure until there is another sighting of the cub.
So if anyone has or has herad of any sighitngs of Safran and the cub it would be really great to have the reports.

We saw Tsamma at 6.45am on 27 December 2012 at the southern entrance of 13 borehole. She was skittish and quickly made her way into the dunes
