Hi Leftylynn.
If you can get your hands on one, I recommend: "Prime Origins Guide to Exploring Kruger" by Brett Hilton Barber and Prof Lee R Berger.
It has everything in there that you would want to know about Kruger.
Camp info; what to expect on all roads; descriptions of the different habitats and their fauna and flora etc.
Its a must-have for any visitor to Kruger!

Hi,

If you can't get your hands on Prime Origins guide(which I haven't), I find the Getaway Guide to Kruger pretty good, with good advice on all the camps and routes. It can be got from most online bookstores.

Might see you there in October

And just so we aren't seen to be favouring one magazine in favour of another, GO!Kruger also has a new edition out. Have a look here.

(Lyn to explain, there are 2 South African magazines, Getaway and GO, that specialise in South African travel. Both are well worth a read if you can get hold of them).

Thanks to everyone for the tips! It's hard to know with the amount of good guidebooks out there which ones are the most highly recommended by frequent park visitors.

I haven't heard of Getaway previously, so I'll check that out.
The Go! website is fabulous! I'll also see if I can track to some of the recommended books.

Any recommendations yet on how I can get a copy of the Honeyguide ahead of time?
Is that still the guidebook that is available at the park gates or are they using another one now?

Lyn, at this stage my recommendation would be to just download one of those from the linked Topic, print it out and then at least you will have something to work with until you get here and buy one of the printed guide books.
Your itinerary looks
