The sunsets from Balule are awesome. Thanks Albert.
I have to wait another 7 months before I see one from Balule again.

My daughters and I spent 1 night in the Balule huts. This must be the best value for money on the planet, also Kruger's best kept secret.

The low water bridge is still not ready, but the camp was easy to access.

The hyena still does his/her inspection rounds like clock work. The camp was very silent, just perfect in every way.

We are so happy, just got off the phone with Sanparks central reservations and we managed to book 2 nights in a hut for 3 of us in December. The other 10 nights will be split between Letaba,Tamboti,Pretoriuskop and Lower Sabie, BUT Balule still remains our favourite camp :D :D

Elsa, no camping as SO is getting on in years, he says pitching camp really takes it out of him. He will be 70 in May. We always help but he says he needs a strong man so we just have to wait another 20 years until LO has a husband

Hi Tent Dweller, unfortunately I didn't take any pics of the hutss but hopefully someone else has. The huts are still exactly the same apart from a new thatched roof and a new lockable door.
Other than that you won't really notice a difference, perhaps apart from the new small table in the hut.

They are still as hot as ever though and the same old paraffin lamps make it even hotter, so look forward to lovely hot evenings. :)

Hi tent dweller. On the 12 Sept 2012, in this topic, I posted a photo of the huts taken at the end of August 2012.
The camp is beautifully kept.

It breaks my heart to hear that Balule is closed again due to the floods :(
