Unread postby Rothdigga » Mon Oct 17, 2011 6:52 pm

Any help with these would be most appreciated... from earlier Oct in KTP.
The yellow eyes are throwing me off on this, is it a Black-shouldered Kite or something else

We were lucky to see a pair mating in Addo yesterday, but it was over before the camera was brought to bear, and the participants flew off!

Hello,

These are probably really easy but I am new at this. Can someone help please ? These were all taken in Addo in June 2012. I am fairly certain this first one is a Black-shouldered kite :

The next 3 were physically 3 different birds, taken at 3 different times, but appear to be the same species. The closest I have found is possibly a juvenile Black-shouldered kite (my book says the juveniles eyes are yellow-brownish) ?

Thanks in advance,

I am not 100% sure, but possibly a black shouldered kite. Seen in the Modderfontein Reserve,

Hi everyone. Just returned from Kruger and clueless about some of my bird sightings as usual. Any help identifying these would be appreciated. All pictures were taken in February.
