Elsa, I have read all the entries regarding sightings for Talamati camp, which now has left me in doubt as to whether I should book at Talamati camp or Sukuza. I am intending to be in the Kruger around the 18 March this year; your advice will be very helpful (I do a lot of photograph)

Welcome to the forum gav.

Skuk is a large 'city' of a camp while Tal is much smaller and 'private'.
There is less game around Tal, but you have no traffic jams at great sightings.
Night rides from Tal often produce rarer sightings like serval, civet, African wild cat.
There are a lot (immediate) of routes to choose from around Skuk, but just 2 from Tal.

More questions? Just ask.

Hi Gavin and a warm welcome to the forum!

In some ways its quite a difficult choice to make.

I love Talamati, make no error but have found in Summer the grass can be quite long and high making sightings a bit difficult.
So off the top of my head and to add to what BB has already said....

Talamati - not as many road choices as around Skukuza area.
but does have the S36 nearby where one can often find the rare Sable antelope.
Has 2 hides in camp where one can sit and often get some great pics.
No restaurant or takeaway facilities.

Skukuza - much larger camp with all amenities, more crowds etc.
Plenty of routes to choose from.
Lake Panic Hide nearby, fantastic for photography.

Hope this has helped somewhat or maybe confused you even more!

How lovely Ras. It must feel great to be back guiding again after the floods.
