Will be staying over on the 24th & 25th of March on our way to the Karoo Nat Park. We have been waiting so long for this site to open and I hope we won't be dissappointed.

Camdeboo camping

Unread postby elkerlyc » Wed Jan 02, 2013 5:23 pm

We intend to visit Camdeboo at the end of January (2013). I read Camdeboo surrounds Graaff-Reinet. Although we will be camping we may want to have dinner in one of Graaff-Reinet restaurants one of the evenings. Is it possible to enter Camdeboo after gate closing time? Is this the right time to visit Camdeboo? Too hot, too much rain? Our camping gear is the rooftent on a Prado.
After Camdeboo we travel to Knysna for a week and on our return our plan to visit MZNP. Nothing booked yet,
We probably stay 3 or 4 days in MZNP.

Any comments, suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

We've stayed at Camdeboo's Lakeview Tented Camp (which is neighboring the campground) some weeks ago and were told that there is a gate guard 24 hrs. Check if the game area in Camdeboo is accessible again (see other thread).

We had a nice stay in MZNP.
I don't know what your interests are, but if you wanna go "offroad" with the Prado, check beforehand if the 4x4 roads in MZNP are open again.

The meaning of Nqweba is “meeting place”. In the case of the Nqweba dam, it refers to the place where four rivers meet - the Sundays, Pienaars, Gats and Broederstroom.
