Hi Pumbaa :D :D
I didn't understand why the guide left the wild dogs when she did :hmz:
Perhaps she didn't want us disturbing the dogs too much?
Anyway, as you picked up, I really did not want to leave them

Wishing you and Timon a fabulous Christmas and look forward to "seeing" you again in 2013

Sunset drive continued..... :D

On the way back to camp we saw a steenbok trying to hide
Image

And the German couple got their wish to see a hyena

Back at camp Dad and I had a beer to help wind down from all the excitement of that drive.
Even the guide told us she hadn't seen the wild dogs for over a year, and how lucky we were to see them that night.
Dad and I felt super lucky to have seen them twice in one day!!

We went and sat at the fence and finished our beers.
It was quiet at the waterhole, so Dad left to get ready for bed.

I was so tired and we had a long drive back to Joburg the next day, but still I couldn't drag myself away from my beloved Orpen waterhole

I was so happy when 2 large ellie bulls suddenly materialised in the spotlight
Image
Image

They mostly gave me bumshots, but I was fine with that!!

It seemed that no sooner had they arrived and they were gone again.
And then one very tired Aussie finally laid her head down to sleep….

When I got back home to Oz, I checked the cam sightings to see if anyone had been watching while I was sitting at the fence.
And YES!!! Lionspoon and vinkie posted these pics of "my" ellies!! :gflower: :gflower:

Way cool!!! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
