big5Spotter - Good meeting you too dude! Yeah we did and we found more after that. But there is a CRAZY story that goes with that. DId you find what we told you about?

Sorry I havent updated in a while, been quite busy, going to do the sunset drive now and will hopefully get to day 3 Later tonight

So we went on the sunset drive. Our ranger was a new girl and she was very sweet. First exciting thing we saw was 2 big male lions near the road.

We carried on and saw this beautiful sunset



On we went, saw rhino, elephant and buffalo. It then started getting dark and out came the spotlights. We crossed the LS bridge and started onto the H10. Something was walking in the road!! It was definately a hyena. But as soon as we got closer, we realized that it had just walked straight past something else in the road!!!




It was MY FIRST ever leopard on a game drive. She was so scared and got up in 2 seconds. As you can see it was also one of my first photos iv taken at night so sorry for the bad quality

One bad thing about the rest of the drive is that with about an hour to go, all the spotlights went weaker and weaker until eventually they were all flat. I had to use my torch that I had on me for the rest. But a sunsetdrive not to forget nonetheless

What a pity that the spotlights were not fully charged.

Had a hectic two weeks at work and caught up at last .
Great first day in the park with doggies and lion sightings .
Love the long neck drinking and then the funny lions in a tree (maybe brothers and sisters of the KTP tree climbing lions ).
What a great sunset and drive as well . Sorry about the spotlights not working till the end .
You did not mention it, but you actually saw the Big 5 during this drive :shock: .

Hi All

Sorry for the huge delay. I just got back from an amazing KTP trip. I have so many photos to process in such little time and I am leaving for the KTP again in 2 weeks

I will not have internet this week but I will still be processing a lot of photos so expect many exciting things in the near future

I Am so terribly sorry for this massive delay. I arrived back from the KTP and went straight into first year varsity. It has been a huge adjustment and I am not so used to being busy all the time, and this thread actually slipped my mind

But I have gone through most of my pictures from all 3 trips and I will not go through day by day but I will just post highlights from each trip and a few of the more interesting stories.

On our last afternoon we spotted these guys near Sweni and they came into the road just before Sunset









So On the last day of the Kruger trip, we left Satara and headed for Croc Bridge gate.

On the way we saw these beautiful girls:












We carried on and saw a lone cheetah on the Tshokwane -Lower Sabie road.

Carrying on, I saw a yellow ribbon and I met Big5Spotter. He told us about some exciting stuff and we were not dissapointed.

We found 5 cheetahs next to the road and as soon as we got there, they started running and killed an impala behind bushes. Did not get one picture

We were then told that 2KM further down that road there were 2 leopards in a tree with a kill!


We could not believe our luck

But suddenly our luck took a HUGE turn for the worse when we stopped at the leopards, looked at them for a while with the car off. Time to get a better photo position. Turn the key.... TRRRRRRRRRRR. Nothing.... The battery was dead at a sighting of 2 leopards in a tree with a kill 50m away. I could not believe it. Thank G-d we were in cellphone range and i called Lower Sabie and they sent a ranger to start our car :O

Just before lower sabie we saw a traffic jam on the bridge and thats when I saw my first ever Cape Clawless Otter!



We carried on and just before Croc bridge we saw this guy
