Hi James, I've attached two maps of the areas we travelled in with what we saw and where. I couldn't upload to a PM unfortunately..:|

Our best leopard sightings were on the S110 road (Matjulu loop) and on the H3, and the lion were near Afsaal and Renoster Pan. There is a hyena den about 3km south of Afsaal right next to the road which offered good sightings as well.

Awesome sightings. I hope that the serval sticks around for a few weeks until I get to B&D. :)

a message from Linz
Hi Raymond

During a stay at the camp over Easter this year, there was a photo of the african pygmy kingfisher posted in reception under birds of B&D. We enquired, but noone could tell us when and where the picture was taken.

I will once again be visiting B&D for Christmas and would like to find out whereabouts these little guys hang out?

Regards

Linz

And with a major golf tournament, the Dunhill Championship, on the go at a golf course close by, Raymond took some famous golfers on a drive a few evenings ago 8)

Hi Koppycat,
Would you mind posting the maps again?

We are off to B & D next weekend and it would be fantastic to see which areas are "hot"

What are current conditions like in the B & D Area?
Very tall grass?
Thick bush?

What are the best roads to take in the area?

I will be staying at B & D for 5 days from Sunday.

Thanks

Hope those come out?

The conditions are really good after lots of rain, grass is tall and the bush is quite thick. All the roads around BeD offered good sightings while we were there!

Right, I see the maps are now loaded! I had the size too big!

We had great luck in the evenings taking the Matjulu road back to camp, had two lepoard sightings and the badger on that road. From Afsaal we also had great viewing returning on the H2-2 and then onto the S118 that runs next to the Mlambane river...
