No 21 has got very nice shade. No's 27 and 28 are good for larger group (as well as 5 and 6)

Here's the link to the Tsendze campsite (with numbers) to give you an idea.
The nice thing about Tsendze is that it's got a lot of bush, so practically every site is private.
Alternatively, try to get hold of the camp attendant Rodger Hobyane (I think he's on the forum) and I'm sure he'll be happy to make a recommendation.

Hi AMT,
Try to contact Rodger, he is on the forum right here...... he is the most helpful person ever
He and Elina run the camp superbly and visit each site mornings and evenings
Most the sites do have shade at sometime during the day...
And don't worry about noise at Tsendze, Rodger wont allow it :naughty:

Hi Rodger, told you we will be visiting sometime!

Booked and confirmed: 9 to 17 March 2013!

Wish camp site has the bigger trees and would fit our 7x7m trailer and tent setup?

I see Meandering Mouse loves #26 and on the forum I saw #25 has nice big trees, what would you suggest?

Hi there Super Mongoose! My first choice would be site no 6 - on the fence and lots of wonderful shade. Asked for it for our upcoming visit in December but it was already taken. So we settled for our second choice no 26.
I would not recommedn no 25 - almost no shade. :D

Hey Foxy and Naomi, thanx for the info...

I confirmed #26 today - the only ones already taken were #3 and #6.....

Has anyone stayed at Tsendze for more than a week, if so, please give me some advise.

SM - we have not stayed at Tsendze for a full week yet, but did at Balule ... and the only tip I can give, (which I am sure you have thought of already, and could well be equipped for) is to ensure you have enough 'battery power' for the duration of your stay - if you are going to run a fridge etc.

Hi Super Mongoose,

I've stayed there for 10 days and mainly used a battery system. The one is connected to the fridge and other one in the car for the smaller fridge. We have a battery charged system in the car and that ensure the battery gets charged regurlary. A battery will not last a week therefor we swapped around every 4th day.

Another tip is too keep your meat in the communal fridge, but check that its working. We found that some-one had closed the gas and the fridge started defrosting. Rodger is a great help so ask him if found that its not working.

Luckily Mopani is very close for stocking up on drinks or to get something to eat. You can also use the swimmimg pool there.

Although no monkeys in the camp you need to ensure your tent / trailer is closed. The tree-squirrels invaded our trailer chewing on the plastic holders and even toothbrushes that were in our toiletry bags. Luckily they could not get to the food.

Thje gate rule is very simple - open and close it yourself. After closing make sure the chain is around the post so that elephants won't be able to push it open. They often pass the camp and may try to enter.

Last I think is to ensure you pack in torches. The bathrooms do have lights running on solar power, but its possible that the batteries ran flat.

Hope you enjoy your time there.

Hi Super Mongoose

We've also stayed there for 10 days but in a caravan. Like Son Godin we also used a battery system - the one in the caravan powered the lights and the one in the car kept the off-road freezer going. We are fortunate in that our elderly caravan still has a 3-way fridge so that operated off gas. Last time we were there, our neighbours were running their fridge/freezer and lights from a solar panel/inverter and this seemed to work well.
Believe that Tsendze has had new freezers installed ( about May this year) and that they are more efficient than the old ones.
If you run out of supplies either go to Mopani or,better still, take a leisurely trip into Phalaborwa - it's a nice round trip for a morning.
