Hope to see some of the pictures you took at the kill soon. On that specific morning we did a walk from Samevloeiing and there was no kill on our return the kill was there.

Saturday we had a morning walk and the guides have seen the 5 lions (which made the kill) on the walk

Busy day in KTP again. Saw a female lion and 3 cubs between Melkvlei and Gunong, 2 male lions with collars at Batuluma and a huge male lion at Leeudril this afternoon. KG's cameras are set up at Leeudril and Samevloeing, should have some good pics.Will post some of our own later.Plenty of general game, but no Eland today.

Great to see that you are having a great time here. We went out this morning and saw male lion at Houmoed, but otherwise very quite. Guests are talking about a Cheetah with three cubs at Tented camp.....so be on the lookout for her.

Just to get back to your post of the Lion in camp. You are correct in saying that the lion did enter the camp through the Botswana gate, luckily the lion was seen soon and we were told about it (06h00). Park manager and I immediately went out to where he was sighted and started to 'push' him towards the fence (Botswana side) so that he could follow the tracks leading to the gate (Botswana).

It took us a good 20 minutes to get him out of the gate.

We saw 1 male and 3 female lions between TR and Samevloeing this morning. I think I passed you when your game drive returned on the Mata Mata road. We then went on the lo
wer dune road and returned to TR via the Nossob road. Saw 3 lions between Kij Kij and Rooputs.

We are home! What a wonderful trip. Our last 3 game drives were very quiet with the stormy weather and all, but the sightings we did have (and the kill we witnessed) will make up for that.

Jannie, I have not even processed the pictures yet. I wanted to come and have a nice chat with you but with the 2 kiddies there (4 months and 22 months old) our time in camp was spent being very busy with them and when they took a nap, we took a nap LOL

I have processed one picture of the lion kill, one of the lionesses giving chase...
I'll obviously write a TR sometime but I first need to finish my current KTP TR from November 2011, and then do my KTP TR from February 2012 and then I'll get to this one for November 2012

On Thursday morning we got out of the gate first and saw the lions lying on the pan on the opposite side of the waterhole (across the road). Immediately we saw one female was stalking against the Botswana dune side, and the others were prone and alert as there were 2 eland there. The lions kept very still and the eland eventually approached the road (presumably to go to the waterhole). At one point the eland weren't more than 20m from the prone lions and didn't spot them! Then the chase was on. A few heart-stopping moments later the dust-cloud settled and the feast was had. I've got so many photos I don't know where to begin...but here's one to wet your appetite...
