Are scorpions, spiders and snakes really a problem in the accommodation units at Twee Rivieren?? I like to come prepared. Would appreciate recent visitors comments.

The species you have mentioned is not a problem inside the chalets, although caution should always be first priority as they might come into the chalets. Spiders will be everywhere inside and out, Scorpions tend to stay outside (wear shoes at all times), same with snakes, they tend to stay outside.

Your information is really helpful. I would like to meet you when we visit the park on Sunday.... can not wait anymore Hope the weather plays along, I understand the scorpions is really active this time of year...

It would be great to meet up and put a face to the name To be honest I haven’t see many scorpions lately, they do tend to be seen more on windy nights. The last two days we have had temperatures in access of 40 degrees.

We came so close to not seeing any, then luckily on our last game drive morning a little bit south of Leuuwdril at 7 in the morning they decided to not let us go unhappy.

Thanks to the forum and Jannie we knew where and when to look .

As promised, I am posting the mentioned picture of the spider.
Does anyone have an idea which one it is?
It was very busy catching insects at night on the terrace in Mata Mata.
