Good Afternoon everyone.

Just back from a long weekend in Punda Maria. Unfortunately the area is still very dry and the first rains have only started to fall now so a lot of species not around yet. Only heard 1 woodlands kingfisher for example, but I still managed 8 Lifers. Takes me to 562.

Lifers are:
Green Capped Eremomela (Pafuri Bridge)
Eurasian Golden Oriole (Pafuri Bridge)
Pennant Winged Nightjar (Punda Maria)
Grey Headed Kingfisher (Punda Maria)
Senegal Coucal (Punda Maria)
Stierlings Wren-Warbler (Punda Maria)
Common Swift (Crook's Corner)
Boehm's Spinetail (Pafuri Picnic Sight)

After running around like headless chickens for a couple of days, we finally saw them twice in the Kunene area. Thank goodness  , I was getting nervous for a while thinking we might dip on them

The thing about birding in Bara for lunch is that
it has a good effect though could very well become
a bad habit, for these reasons,-

1. Score a lifer.
2. Make friends.
3. And even forget about eating

Adrian P it was great meeting you! ,
Your expertise is very inspiring.

Had a healthy day me!!

Thank you AdrianP.

We were very lucky because it is bone dry between Punda and Pafuri. Was very happy with my lifers. I must add we had a fantastic guide!

522 please

Trip to Northern KNP at the beginning of the month. I dipped on some of the ones I was supposed to find but happily got a few others. Never been North of Olifants before so had a great time.
New ones:
Lesser Spotted Eagle
Temmincks Courser
Levaillants Cuckoo
Monotonous Lark
Bearded Scrub-Robin
Green-capped Eremomela
Tropical Boubou
White-winged Widowbird
Jameson's Firefinch
Osprey

Will be a long time until I'm back I think....

I leave a week today on a trip to the northern birding boundary of Southern Africa and hope to add considerably to my 492.
