Giraffes was found close to the restcamp and throught out the drive scrub hare's. Red hartebees in the area of Oranjekom waterhole and a small herd of springbok on the other side of the Black Ridges.

A group of Hartmann zebra's close to fonteintjie, a little bit far off and could have been easily overlooked, a gemsbok on the otherside, these was also found throught out the drive.
A nice sighting of a pair of klipspringers standing on a rock boulder so close to us.
We only saw a spotted eagle owl flewing off and hear the sound of rufous cheeked nightjar as well as a quick sighting of it on the road.

A genet a bit further and on my way back another genet very close to the road.

Morning all
Yes Lion queen I had two forumites on the drive, Caracal asked me to just find her a genet and according to them they haven't seen klipspringers during their stay, so this was another hit as they was also close to the road.

Last night we had african wildcat close to Moonrock followed by so many scrub hare's, klipspringers on the other side of Kukurasiep dry river bed and red rock rabbit and spotted eagle owl at the Black Ridges.
In the area of fonteintjie 2 kudu's was running in front of the vehicle and at Holombacht area we found springbok.

On my way back close to the Restcamp a herd of eland and giraffes.

Hi AG..we are back in Cape Town  and no we did not find a caracal in Namaqualand either. I did find myself a puncture in Namaqualand though  The access road to the park was shocking....maybe you can give them some hints and tips on maintaining their roads
But it was great to meet you...and yes we were thrilled with our sightings......both on our night drive as well as during the day !!! I will post a photo or two in time....we are off to Addo on Sunday so life is a bit hectic at the moment .
Keep up the good work here AG....chat soon !

Hi Caracal
Only coming from off days now, sorry to hear about the puncture, that road is a bit hectic, also glad that you are satisfied with your sightings, I know that you can do the whole circular road sometimes and end up with a few sightings, so that's life out there.
Also great to meet you to and please post some of the photo's here, if you have the time to do so.

Morning all
Giraffe as well as a small herd of eland was found close to Moonrock and a pair of klipspringers on the other side of Kukurasiep dry river bed.
Another giraffe came to drink at Oranjekom waterhole while a lot of namaqua sandgrouse flew off.
On the other side of the Black Ridges a genet and a bit furher a spotted eagle owl sitting next to the road.

A large herd of eland +- 60 at the fountain look out point. At this stage the wind started to blew very strong with a cold breeze, overall very dusty and this morning we are back into a short duration of winter.

On my way back a scrub hare and another spotted eagle owl close to the restcamp.

Morning all
Started of with giraffes close to the restcamp and namaqua sandgrouse sitting in the road at Kukurasiep dry river bed, these birds have the habit of only flying off when you are very close to them.
A nice sighting of a aardwolf running 20meters from us in the direction we was going.

A red hartebeees bull in front of the Black Ridges and a red rock rabbit as well.
Spotted eagle owl and scrub hare at fonteintjie.

On my way back 2 leopards at the Black Ridges also in the same area where the previous sighting was a month ago. Looks like a mother and her cub, a little bit far but could easily seen through the binoculars. :D
