Rodger, we all, at some time, do things that are best forgotten! Next time, at least, when the leopard is crossing the road with her cubs, or the cheetah sprints past you to catch an impala in the road, you'll have your "bush tools" ready and able!

Hey Roger, pity about the Lions that did not get a kiekie, but I've done a lot worse:

In April we came in at Phabeni and had a long drive to Satara.
Along the way just before we saw a leopard in a tree my cameras battery died, did not charge it at home because I have a spare.
At the leopard I changed the battery and it does not want to work, it's faulty and does not register in the camera.
Well, no leopard pics, but that night I wanted to charge the other battery and I found I brought the wrong charger, it's to small for this cameras battery.
So NO PICS the rest or the trip!!!!!

Well, on our last trip that ended Sunday, I bought extra batteries, an extra charger, plenty memory cards and even a extra small camera for I was not going home without pics again!!!

Hi everyone,
I need some information and would appreciate some help.
We will be camping on # 27 and 28 in January next year (5 nights) in an off road caravan and tent.
Anybody with some photos of the sites?
How level are they, is rain water a potential problem (> than normal) it will be hot so we need shade but the sun for fixed solar panel, this possible?

Any other relevant info will be HIGHLY appreciated

For those in the know, which camp sites at Tsendze would you say are the preferred ones?
We are looking to go there for the first time next month and would choose a more private, tranquil part of the camp (not worried about how close the ablutions are).

I think there was oodles of info some of which has been edited out of this thread ...

As far as I recall 27 & 28 do not offer much shade . They are quite level .

We have been to Tsendze twice - have camped on no 6 and no 26. Both are great and on the fence.
If I have to choose between the two I will go for no 6.
Has by far the best shade.
A bit far away from the ablutions - ablution block right opposite no 26.
Booked again for December   on 26 as 6 was already taken!

Mmmnnnhhh please don't take my comment
for gospel. Playing with another mans holiday
could become a very sensitive issue!! Heh..

Tobieo, Own Just the tone of your alias's
sends cold shivers up my spine ie;-

To be on your own,..... The first few stands to
the left after entering the gate offer much mopanie
privacy with few trees for shade.
All other stands offer much shade. 24 25 26 and 27
are well suited for caravans and groups. Some other
stands to.

All the stands seems very user friendly!!

We occupied 18 or was it 17 once and very privvy.
Very central and close to the ablutions.

I wish to note thatTsendze goes down amongst campers
with high regard and therefore you will find much respect
by other campers.

Don't expect anything, stop pfaffing and just get there!!!

Hi Roger, has the area had good rain? I see on the satellite images that you will get some rain in the next 24 hrs! It's raining on the mpumalanga escarpment at the moment.

Hi Rodger. We are booked for campsite 3 from the 26 - 31 October. Looking forward meeting you!

This will be my first trip to the park in about 20 years, so we are really looking forward to it!

I'm just hoping the rain stays away!

Cheers!
Dieter

Hi knorhaan,

The roads in the camp can become quite slippery after a good rain fall. Hope you enjoy your stay at campsite no 3. We camped on that spot for the last two visits to Tsendze and experienced a good thunderstorm there early April 2011.

When its raining go down to Shipandani hide and watch the crocs fishing on the low water bridge.

While you up there can you make notes of the water holes demolished this week in the Mopani area and give us some feedback when you back again.

I allways shouted praise for Tsenze but due to its size and the fact that large groups seem to have discovered it I have come to prefer Balule . It apears to me that of late certain folks arrive in groups (is it the Giriyondo traffic who have to overnight ?) and as they are in transit to a coastal breakaway where the sea drowns out noise they seem to talk loudly and with little concern for their neighbours as they are just spending one night ... ?
